Apply for a Resident Assistant Position

Applications are invited from full-time students of the university who are mature and are interested in serving the resident community of students in 2012-2013.

Successful candidates will be selected on the basis of their interest in the student community and their experience in a residential student (or other customer care) environment. Accommodation Services will be looking for awareness, sensitivity, discretion and an ability to work confidently without constant supervision in a variety of situations, some of which may require particular skills, quick thinking and a natural flair and authority. In return for the performance of "on call" duties as part of a team within a particular hall of residence, RAs receive accommodation in that hall free of charge.

RA recruitment closes – application DEADLINE

Candidates who have submitted qualifying applications will be asked to take part in a 3 stage selection process, beginning with a formal interview. Those who are successful at interview will then be invited to participate in the "Boot Camp" day. Qualifiers from Boot Camp will then be entered into the finals (conducted on-line and by email) from which the actual appointments will be made. The dates of each stage are listed below: -

1st selection stage - Open Auditions/Interviews for RA applicants

2nd selection stage - "Boot Camp"

  • Tuesday 22nd May

3rd selection stage - "Finals"

  • 28th May - start
  • 8th June - end

Results – publication of RA appointments for 2012-3013
