Freewire Phone
The University of Greenwich offers the option to purchase the Freewire telephone service to residents in most halls.
With this service, students can make reduced-rate phone calls and receive calls either on their PCs or through a desktop phone handset. Freewire uses the Internet to make phone calls instead of the usual telephone lines, so calls to other Freewire users are free and calls to other phones are substantially cheaper than most other phone networks.
This requires that you sign up for an account with Freewire, and if you want to make calls to other phones you can add credit to that account.
