Getting to Medway Campus by Public Transport

Bus

There are several bus routes stopping just outside the Campus main entrance in Dock Road. Most of these routes include a stop at Chatham Station.

From Dock Road:

  • 116 Arriva: Chatham – Universities - Gillingham – Rainham – Hempstead Valley
  • 140-141 Arriva: Strood – Chatham – Universities
  • Kings Ferry Dockside Shuttle: Chatham – Universities
  • 151 Nu-Venture: from Kings Hill

From Wood Street (10 minutes walk):

  • 101 Arriva: from Maidstone

Arriva Saver South East tickets

From September 2011 students and staff will be able to access substantial discounts off the price of Arriva Saver South East tickets.

Rail

All train services into the Medway towns are operated by Southeastern. Chatham Station has the best bus links to the Campus and typically takes around 10 minutes. Gillingham Station is closer than Chatham, taking around 20 minutes on foot or connected by the 116 bus.

Trains from London

London Victoria, Cannon Street, Charing Cross and London Bridge stations have frequent services to Chatham. The journey takes 45–60 minutes. There are services direct from Greenwich, Falconwood and New Eltham (both near Avery Hill Campus) but a change is usually necessary at Charlton or Dartford.

Trains from south and east Kent

There are regular trains to Chatham from Maidstone, Dover, Canterbury and Thanet. For further information contact National Rail Enquiries.
