"My University of Greenwich course provided me with language skills via its exchange programme with Universities across Europe, valuable hands-on experience via its work-placement programme as well as both academic and practical skills through its well structured choice of lectures and tutorials. It's a course, which has equipped me with the right skills for my chosen career in the Communications industry."

”The structure of the course is all encompassing, thus enabling you to cover all aspects of marketing in considerable detail. This was especially useful for myself as I now predominately work on integrated campaigns that are increasingly more and more complex and involve all aspects of the marketing mix. To be honest, I think every Client these days is looking for the fuller picture in all their communications and this course really gives you a great grounding to work like this. In addition, I studied the sandwich year course and worked for a year in industry on the Client side, which for me was fantastic as it enabled me to see how all the theory relates and then works in the real world – this really pays dividends later on! Let's not forget the lecturers or tutors! Quite simply, some of the best and most highly esteemed in the business from whom I have learnt a lot, they also like a beer or two which helps!”

”The Advertising and Marketing Communications Degree course has certainly lived up to its reputation as one of the best structured in the country. My own career has been significantly guided and helped by the broad range of marketing and commercial knowledge that I learnt as an undergraduate - its balance of academic and applied learning provides an excellent foundation for future careers across a wide range of business disciplines. If I had one regret from my time there, it would be that I am now less able to spend as much time as I used to in the Union Tavern playing pool with Roo Stephens, eating enormous cheese and ham sandwiches and wondering vaguely whether it would be inappropriate to continue to flirt with Alison Humphries!”

Helen Coe
Marketing Executive
Incisive Media
I am working as Marketing Executive for the Mortgage Division of the Publishing Company Incisive Media. I specifically work with Your Mortgage and Your Money magazine and www.yourmortgage.co.uk and www.yourmoney.com . I have been here a year now and have been enjoying the position. We are based in Haymarket, Piccadilly so it’s nice to be central. University life was great. I still see a lot of friends from Uni. I got to work in Boston in my 2nd year, whilst on my sandwich year placement, which was an unforgettable experience. The Marketing Programme was hard work at times but the fact that Greenwich promotes team work really helps you get to grips with working in teams on projects together.
Lynne Readings
Immigration Officer
Harwich International Port
I left University of Greenwich and went straight into a job within the Civil Service. I am currently an Immigration Officer working at Harwich International Port, having transferred from Stansted Airport on promotion.
My time at Greenwich was good fun and all the lecturers that I had were really helpful when I had a question I wanted to ask. When I did my dissertation my tutor was extremely helpful and assisted me with new topics to read to give depth to my writing. Although I am not actually using my degree at the moment it has helped me with various aspects of my job especially with statistics and writing up reports on cases that I am involved with.

Mattias Eklund
Knowledge Management Executive
Communications and Technology Sector
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP
The MA at Greenwich was very developing for me. I think the main outcome, more than anything was the inspiration and confidence it gave me to take the next step in my career. The variety of courses was stimulating, touching on both the practice of marketing as well as academic research pushing marketing forward. The programme also has a focus on contemporary issues which I found very inspiring. When I now return to working life I feel well equipped and it gives me confidence to know I bring with me the latest marketing knowledge. The year at Greenwich also deepened my interest in marketing as a subject and raised my respect for it, much through the academic underpinning of the studies. It also introduced me to a range of new areas of interest and specialisation which I am now pursuing, giving me a sharpened profile and a higher 'market value'. I would recommend the MA at Greenwich to anyone who wants to take their marketing skills further and deeper and get inspiration and direction for the future. As a bonus there will be great new friends and good times in a beautiful environment - as well as blood, sweat and long nights on coffee!
Raksha Munrakhan
The University of Greenwich exceeded my expectations through its full fledged strategic marketing course which has provided me with the theoretical as well as the practical insights into how marketing strategies work in the real world. What impressed me even more than the quality of the course was the constant and unconditional support and advice provided by the tutors and lecturers. Thanks to their guidance and support, I passed with excellent results and I secured a job within the first month of my course completion. Today, I am proud to be a member of the University of Greenwich family and I would recommend others who are interested to come and join us
Ewa Krolikowska
Programme Leader - BA Events Management
University of Greenwich - Business School
After 9 years of working for PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Marketing Manager in Warsaw and London, I wanted a career change and decided to apply for the MA Strategic Marketing degree programme.
This programme was recommended to me by a colleague. I joined the one year full-time programme in October 2003. I live in Essex and this meant coming in to study three days a week, even though I have family commitments. On the programme I experienced some excellent lecturing, made good friends with whom I continue to socialise and most of all, really furthered my own critical thinking skills by applying theory to the practice I had experienced at PwC. In addition, with the help of my supervisor, I was able to achieve a distinction in my dissertation on a subject of particular interest to me (bonds, commitment and loyalty in auditor-client relationships). I am now continuing this research at doctorate level.
I was offered a lecturing position within the Marketing Department of the University of Greenwich in January 2005 and since then, I have been promoted to Senior Lecturer and from January 2007, I became Programme Leader of the BA Events Management degree. I believe that studying for and gaining the MA Strategic Marketing degree was a turning point in my professional life which has allowed me to progress quickly in my chosen career.
I would recommend it wholeheartedly as a valuable investment to anyone considering a career change or wishing to further their career in a marketing-related area.
