Annual Dinner 2009

The attendees at the Annual Dinner of 2009 comprised of 50 GMI current students, graduates and staff. The evening was enjoyed by everyone and a great way for the current students to celebrate the end of the academic year and the graduates to come back and meet up with old friends.

The welcome address and Loyal Toast were given by Maritime History graduate John Johnson-Allen, Grace was said by Reverend Canon Ken Peters and the toast to the GMI was given by Maritime Policy student Marvo Darroux. This was followed by an after-dinner speech by special guest David Whitehead of the British Ports Association. The dinner tables then competed in a quiz led by GMI staff Chris Ware and James Davey and the evening was concluded by the students presenting flowers to Sarah Palmer, Minghua Zhao as a way to thank them for their work over the last year and chocolates to Suzanne Bowles for organising this year's Annual Dinner.

Thanks particularly to David Whitehead for joining us and entertaining the guests with his speech.
