The course draws upon the theoretical framework developed in the course The Maritime Business Environment and integrates the perspectives laid down in the preceding courses associated with the functional areas of the business organisation. Case studies play a major part in both the teaching and assessment strategy, as the intention is to develop participants’ capacity to deal imaginatively with unique and real business situations. The ability to change the strategic focus and direction of any organisation is a critical success factor in the business environment today. MBA students must understand the factors which bring about change and the mechanisms to implement change if they are to be effective in their business careers.
