Short Courses
Summer 2012 - One and Two-Day Courses
The GMI are running a series of one and two-day courses during the summer of 2012. These courses are for interest purposes only and any member of the public is welcome to register. No formal University credits will be awarded upon completion but you will gain detailed knowledge of the specific topic studied and a little taste of what it is like to be a student of the GMI, if only for a day or two!
The courses will be shown on our website towards the end of December 2011.
From September 2011 - Twelve/Fourteen Week Courses
The Greenwich Maritime Institute also offer a series of courses that can be taken individually and contribute towards CPD or studied as taster courses for those who are interested in the subject area and would like to give a postgraduate degree a try before committing to the full programme. The credits can be accumulated and would be taken into consideration should a student wish to continue on to a full degree programme at a later date.
The courses are studied on a weekly basis and are alongside the degree programmes, so you would mix with those students who are studying for the MA or MBA degrees.
This opportunity gives those who are interested in the subject areas on offer a great chance to study the subjects at a more advanced level, and the individual can decide whether or not they wish to undertake the assessment.
The 12-week courses offered from September 2011 are:
- Methods, Problems & Issues in Maritime Policy (20 credits)
- The Maritime Business Environment (10 credits)
- British Maritime History: The Merchant Navy (20 credits)
