Forensic Science at the University of Greenwich
Chemistry & Pharmaceutical Sciences
From forensic science and chemistry to pharmaceutical science and human nutrition. Whatever you choose to study you will be taught by experienced staff in state-of-the-art labs and gain important skills.
Forensic science is the application of science to the law, and the resolution of legal issues by applying scientific principles to them. It draws together disciplines from chemistry, biology, physics, geology, psychology and social science, among others. Analysis involves a variety of sciences, mathematical principles and problem solving methods, including use of complex instruments, chemical, physical and microscopic examining techniques and general literature.
At the University of Greenwich we offer two routes in this teaching area: BSc Forensic Science and, for those who want to explore the relationship between crime and society in more depth, BSc Forensic Science with Criminology.
Either of these routes will offer opportunities to work within the criminal justice system, in the police force, the Forensic Science Service, private forensic science laboratories or for HM Prison Service.
