Bioscience at the University of Greenwich
What an exciting time to study Bioscience! Bioscience is the study of living things. It includes all of the components that make up living things and the science of how these parts function.
Our Programme allows you to choose from a broad range of options or to specialize in a specific area that can lead to a named BSc Bioscience Degree: Medical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, or Medical Physiology. Another feature of our programme is that many of our courses have a medical focus. For example, we offer Medical Biochemistry and Medical Microbiology. In such a context, it is easy to see the translation of our knowledge of biology into everyday applications: for example, new methods for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. It was the study of Cell Biology that has led to the concept and application of stem cells for the treatment of many diseases.
This programme is recognised by the Institute of Biology. Graduates will be able to join the Institute of Biology as Associate Members (with membership at half price for the first two years).
So, if you are fascinated by the world of discovery and interested in new scientific breakthroughs, this programme is for you.
