Nanomedicine
Hello and welcome to the Richardson Lab webpage, part of the School of Science at the University of Greenwich.
I am Simon Richardson a senior lecturer in biopharmaceutical sciences.
I have, since my BSc been fortunate enough to study several disciplines in both the US and the UK. A short biography describing my scientific career can be found on my Biography page.
My research focuses upon several key areas all with a common unifying theme: to understand and manipulate the mammalian endomembrane system.
To this end I hope to achieve two goals:
To understand the mechanics and regulation of intracellular membrane recycling and retention systems and how these impact upon cellular homeostasis
To exploit these intracelluar recycling pathways for the generation of (nanomedicinal) macromolecular drug (i.e. gene therapeutic) delivery systems.
A more detailed description of my research interests can be found by following this link.
I am a member of the EPSRC sponsored Nanomedicines platform, which can be found by clicking on their logo (left).
