Getting to Medway Campus by Bike and Foot
|
Bike
There are numerous cycle paths leading towards the Campus. If you bring your bike on the train the route from Gillingham is linked to Campus with a cycle path and is preferable to alighting at Chatham Station. There is no cycling in the Medway Tunnel.
There are bike parking facilities around the Campus and showers and lockers are provided in the Nelson Building (Ladies Ground Floor; Gents First Floor) and at the Sports Hall.
TfL provide useful advice on bike security.
A floor pump and emergency repair kit can be used from the Gatehouse.
Foot
Walking is a good way to stay fit and healthy. All the roads into the Campus have pedestrian footpaths and are lit.
The walk from Gillingham Station up to the Campus via Johnson Avenue is around one mile and takes around 20 minutes.
For more general information on cycling see the Cycling and Walking page.
