Disabled Students Allowance 2010-2011
Prospective and current students are advised to apply for the Disabled Students' Allowances (DSAs) for 2010/11 now. You don't need to have a confirmed place at the University before you apply for the DSAs.

Guidelines and forms are available via the website Direct Gov for you to download. You should, however, be aware that additional information on DSAs are available on the Disability & Dyslexia Team website, including Assessment of Needs and the Outreach Assessment Centre.
Support within the University
The Disability & Dyslexia Team within the Office of Student Affairs offer the following services:
- advice on disability and learning difficulties
- screenings for dyslexia
- personal emergency evacuation plans
- educational psychologist provision
- disability & dyslexia mentoring and mental health support
- study skills for dyslexic students
- advice on exam concessions
- TextHelp - software to help with reading and writing
- advice on DSAs
- named academic staff and support staff contacts who support students with disabilities or dyslexia
