Checking your Eligibility
To be eligible to attend the ceremonies, you must:
- have successfully completed your programme of study by 30th June 2011
- have cleared any financial obligations to the university
- adhere to the administrative deadlines specified in the Awards Ceremonies Brochure (sent with the invitation pack)
1. Completion of study
Although successful graduates are entitled to attend an Awards Ceremony, the university would like to encourage those graduates who have decided to progress to the next level of study, e.g. HND to Degree, to delay their attendance and collect the higher level of award at a later date.
2. Financial obligations
If you are in debt to the University you will not be permitted to attend your Awards Ceremony. To avoid disappointment, please read the following carefully.
Debt to the University may take many forms and includes unpaid tuition fees and accommodation fees. Please note that if your sponsor (e.g. local education authority, employer) has not paid your fees, this also counts as a debt. As a consequence you will not be eligible to attend the Awards Ceremony, nor will you receive your certificate until the outstanding amount has been paid in full. You should receive reminders from the University regarding any outstanding debts.
Please note that for any debts paid by cheque, all cheques must have cleared the University's accounts system before the ceremony. (You should therefore allow at least 15 working days [three weeks] for your cheque to clear.) You can pay by debit card.

3. Adherence to deadline
Due to the detailed organisation necessary for each ceremony we cannot guarantee to provide tickets for you or your guests if you apply after the published deadline. Please do not leave your application to the last minute, as we do not have the flexibility to add latecomers.
If you envisage any problem with returning your reply form, please contact the helpline before the closing date. If we have not heard from you by this date, we shall assume you do not wish to attend.
