What Do We Do?

faiths120

The Chaplaincy Team at the University of Greenwich provide a valuable service to both students and staff.  The team offer help and guidance to all regardless of individual belief.

If we can help, we will;

if we can’t, we will find someone who can.

Chaplaincy work at the University has three aspects:

Home from Home

We provide a positive, home-like atmosphere to students and staff, offering hospitality to anyone who comes to the Chaplaincy offices, additionally helping students to register and settle in at the University, especially international students.

The chaplaincy is active in supporting the community on each campus through religious services, social events, trips, graduations, Fresher’s Fairs, and other events. The chaplaincy team also co-ordinate the provision of prayer space at the University and help to direct individuals to places of worship and religious groups of their faith as requested.

Heart to Heart

We provide confidential pastoral care and/or spiritual direction guidance to all students and staff, of all faiths or none. The chaplaincy team also support respectful exploration and discussion of beliefs and ethics.

Missing in Action

Students sometimes go missing from the University, often because they are unable to cope. To ascertain that a missing student is alright, the Chaplains will try to make contact with them through friends, tutors, and directly. If necessary we will contact the student’s family and/or the Police if the student is genuinely missing.

If you are a staff member or student at the university and if you are concerned about a possibly missing student, please contact the Chaplaincy by emailing us at mia@gre.ac.uk. Please include the name of the student about whom you are concerned and your name and contact details so that we can contact you for more information. We will keep these details confidential.
